Here we are with Episode #4 from our fourth visual novel, Thief of Hearts!

And a warm welcome to any new supporters who are here for the first time or returning.

We thank you for your patience with waiting on the new release. It’s been quite stressful creating it at times, with re-writes, render fixes and to make sure the save transfers and details from Part 1 to this new app all worked correctly.

The Story

At the start of an intriguing fourth episode, you find yourself in a tricky situation after the failed Art Gallery Heist at the end of Episode 3.

How will you talk your way out of this one? And who can you call to help you get home without getting into any more trouble?

Your allies are just as important as the people you live and work with. The problem is, who can you completely trust?

At some point, you may have to take the initiative and make the leap from close follower, to inspiring leader that others can look up to.

Are you ready to be that guy?

Don’t forget about the girls who you have become very close to.

They may need some much-needed attention, or just an ear to listen to them. And maybe something a lot more than that!

There are also hidden and bonus scenes to discover and loads of special bonus renders to find.

Know who to trust, back your instincts and above all else, don’t get caught!

Various issues fixed with last week’s beta release (Episode 4):

– various grammar fixes and render fixes

– edited the coding with all the Music and FX files so they are all in the same folder

– Added a Bonus Scene featuring gang boss, Lucy!

– Issues with the Wallpaper menu not transferring over to the new app (Fixed now)

– Added a vertical scrollbar for the characters’ final review screens

– added in two new Vivian animations

– adjusted the alignment for the Final review screen “Stats” section

– fixed a breakfast morning scene where the orange juice in its glass was defying gravity(!)

– fixed some renders during the Ariel and the MC sofa scene

Part 1 (Episode 1-3 fixes)

– fixed a few more spelling, grammar and script tweaks since the 0.0.3a update

– fixed the animations from 0.0.3a that were redone but got placed in the wrong folder during the build process and the old videos never got overwritten

– fixed an error with a team shortcut coding

– fixed details regarding game stats, tasks and points counters

– added transfer logic for vault unlock codes

– fixed an ongoing issue with the Wallpaper images not unlocking correctly

– fixed the method in which the tablet wallpapers were unlocked. Unlocked wallpapers you obtained should still be unlocked, but the order/numbering is now static so if any are missing, you will see a locked screen when selecting one.

– fixed details with the rewards gallery and the main menu screen

– fixed the end game transfer logic to Part 2 to add a few more missing variables, and transfer over the settings from the vault so it does not need to be unlocked again.

NOTE: There’s an error with the MC’s clothing from the date scene with Zora to when he returns home and speaks with Ariel.

The MC is wearing slightly different outfits. This will be fixed when we do a revision update later in the year.

For those of you on the $10+ tiers, we have updated and included three Walkthroughs for Part 2 (Episode 4) to download and view to help you during your play-through if you get stuck or can’t find anything.

Final Words

Now that Episode 4 has been released, it’s straight back into work on the fifth episode, which our writer has already begun working on.

Our goal is to try and put out three or four episodes of Thief of Hearts each year until completion.

Of course, circumstances can change, but we have a target to aim for and will do our best to give you all consistent updates and content.

Once again, we’d love to thank all of you for your ongoing support over the past eight or so years. We make these games for you guys as much as we do ourselves.

As long as we still have the support from all of you generous people, we’ll keep putting games out… and completing them!
