BMAC, New Payment Method, Release Date And Other News

Hi guys,

It’s been a while since I’ve shared some news about our plans with you, and I figure that now is the best time to do so.

I’ll be discussing a lot of things that have happened to us over the past few months, so this is going to be a very detailed post. So please read it carefully.

What happened to BuyMeACoffee?

Many of you may have already noticed that we no longer support BMAC as a payment method. This has happened because BuyMeACoffee is not a reliable platform for us anymore.

Back in early August, BMAC sent creators an email stating that they will no longer accept Paypal as a payment option.

Among their reasons, they blamed the adult creators for this coming to this decision (as usual).

Not having Paypal as an option obviously hurt our income, as most of you use Paypal as your preferred way of donating to our cause.

Anyway, we stuck with them because they promised to pay our remaining balance as soon as possible.

Well, it’s been three months since I requested the payment and I’m still waiting.
We’re not the only ones though, as many people who use BMAC have made complaints on Twitter.

Overall, we decided not to continue with this platform anymore and instead we are now with HumbleBundle. This change happened in September.

Since we made the change, we’ve started to receive Paypal donations again (which we are really grateful for), and we’ve received our first payment from HB last month. HumbleBundle supports Paypal and adult games, and since we’ve seen many adult games join their platform, in our opinion it’s a much better option for us than BMAC.

But this means that our password-protected page is no longer a viable method for sharing our game.

So from now on, if you want to get DMD v0.20 (and future updates) you will have to donate using the new payment method. Sorry about that, but that’s just the way it is…

New Website

We’ve also decided to change the look of our website (mrdotsgames.com) and to merge it with our DMD website.

And the reason for this is simple: We plan on creating more games after DMD and Melody are completed and we’ve realized that creating individual websites for each game, wouldn’t exactly be a wise decision. That’s why we merged DMDgame.com with Mrdotsgames.com.

Another problem we always have during release dates is the constant server crashes. Hopefully, this doesn’t happen anymore. But we’ll find out what happens later this month!

DMD v0.20 release date and new previews

We’ve set the release date for DMD v.20, which will be Friday, November 30th. We are working hard to see if we can release the game on November 24th, but for now, we’ll stick to the first date as to make sure that the update isn’t rushed, and we can include as much content as possible.

Plus, we’re well aware that this will be the last update of DMD for 2018, so we really want to go out on a high!

IMPORTANT: A LOT of important moments will happen in this update. So, make sure to tell everyone whom has an interest in DMD, that they definitely don’t want to miss this forthcoming release! 😀

Final words

We’ll be sharing more news about DMD v.20 in the upcoming weeks. A new preview image is scheduled to be posted up tomorrow, so please stay tuned to this blog 😀

  4. It’s great to see that you’re not giving up on DMD even with continuous problems you’re facing,hats off for that guys. Even though i’m hooked up on Melody I always love to go back to DMD,can’t wait to see what you have prepared in 0.20!

  5. Ok, that’s a bummer, but great to see that there will be new DMD releases! Just bought the game there.

    With regards to the server stress: why not put your game on the Humble servers instead of the path you’ve currently chosen? They seemed to be able to handle the stress with other games in the past.

    Also, not sure if this is intentional or not, but I can’t seem to find DMD through the HB store? Is this a bug somewhere?

      I’ve decided not to list it on the store because they charge you a high fee for this feature. If I sell it via widget, like I’m doing right now, the fees are only 5%

        You’re very welcome. Just checked my library there: DMD is currently the only game I cannot download directly from HB (unless there is only a Steam key).

        Speaking of Steam (and GoG): both seem to accept adult games (now). Maybe that’s another option for you? Though I have no idea what their cut would look like and if that’s feasible for you.

        Holy hell, I wasn’t aware, that a simple listing costs 5 %! That seems very excessive and counter productive. Shouldn’t they want as many games listed as they can manage to attract or at least all of their curated selection. Thanks for pointing this out!
